Alignment to ISO 45001: Industry Perspectives & Resources

January 11, 2021 by Ryan Donahue

In an effort to better understand its clients’ needs, RegScan sought to gain industry perspective on the alignment to ISO 45001 – Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS) with two primary objectives:

  1. To identify industries pursuing ISO 45001 certification or alignment, and
  2. To identify the resources and tools most beneficial to implement an occupational health and safety management system aligned to ISO 45001 criteria.

RegScan collected feedback from 28 survey participants during a 60-day period this summer. Survey respondents represent a varied range of industries with no singular industry leading the results. All respondents self-reported as environmental, health, safety, sustainability, or quality professionals or as direct support for these departments. As for direct OH&S responsibilities, 54% of respondents reported direct responsibility for OH&S while others reported as influencing or contributing to OH&S objectives.

You can download a copy of Aligning to ISO 45001 and Must-Have Resources by visiting the Case Studies section of RegScan.com.

In the report, RegScan provides industry perspective on alignment to ISO 45001, including how COVID-related challenges may have impacted their operations. The report explores how budgets and staffing were affected, how leaders were reliant on technology to support realignment efforts, and how COVID-19 impacted their work in 2020. The report also looks at how organizations are using regulatory and compliance databases such as RegScan to meet alignment to ISO 45001 objectives, in addition to resources included with environmental management information systems (EMIS) and other health and safety software solutions.

If your organization is working towards aligning to ISO 45001, this report will give you perspective on how other businesses have worked to complete their journey. Download your free copy today!
